
Associação para a Defesa do Ambiente - Cavalum
A.D.A-Cavalum is an environmental NGO whose mission is to promote the ecological restoration of degraded ecosystems, enhancing their functionality, biodiversity, and resilience. It carries out actions to control invasive species, plant native flora, and monitor biodiversity, contributing to the sustainable recovery of the land. The organization is also active in environmental education, raising community awareness about nature conservation through activities, volunteer programs, and partnerships with schools and other institutions. It further values cultural heritage by restoring trails, mills, and other traditional structures.

Centro do Clima
The "Centro do Clima" is a collaborative hub for experimentation in climate action and resilience, established by the Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, the Parish Council of Rates, and BIOPOLIS/CIBIO. It operates as a bridging organization, connecting science, community, and public policy to co-create solutions that address the challenges of climate change. Its mission is to mobilize scientific knowledge and civic engagement to build a more resilient landscape in Póvoa de Varzim, transforming knowledge into action and action into knowledge. Rooted in a landscape-based cultural approach, it treats the territory as a living laboratory for climate innovation.

Ecoclubes
The Organization for the Promotion of Ecoclubs was founded in 2008 in Portugal to advance the Ecoclub movement, which focuses on environmental protection and community well-being. Ecoclubs are a network of local youth groups encouraged to be active in their communities. Ecoclub members are young people who plan and lead activities with community involvement to address local issues, following our motto: “Think globally, act locally.” The aim is to help young people and social groups develop social values, a sense of friendship, and an interest in the environment - tools that enable them to participate actively in protecting and improving their surroundings.

Lipor
Lipor – Association of Municipalities for Sustainable Waste Management in Greater Porto – promotes integrated and sustainable management of urban waste produced by eight municipalities in the Porto Metropolitan Area. Its mission focuses on turning waste into resources through the implementation of innovative practices in multi-material, organic, and energy recovery, while minimizing landfill disposal and fostering a circular economy. It contributes to environmental education and awareness, promoting best practices in waste prevention, separation, and recycling. Lipor aims to create environmental, social, and economic value while protecting the planet for future generations.

Geoclub
Geoclube – Youth Association is a non-profit organization based in Gondomar, founded in 2000 by a group of teachers and students with the goal of promoting active youth participation in issues that directly affect their future, such as environmental concerns, democracy, social inclusion, and entrepreneurship. Geoclube organizes non-formal education activities, volunteering, youth exchanges, and international projects, encouraging its members to engage actively and strengthen their connection with both the local and European community. With a special focus on empowering and mobilizing young people aged 12 to 35, it aims to foster personal development, active citizenship, and sustainability across multiple areas.

Zero
ZERO – Sustainable Earth System Association is a national environmental NGO that promotes sustainability as a central principle for public policy in Portugal. Its mission focuses on defending and advancing a sustainable and regenerative development model that balances environmental, social, and economic priorities. The organization strives for ambitious goals, including zero fossil fuels, zero pollution, zero resource waste, zero ecosystem destruction, and zero social and economic inequality. ZERO achieves this through constructive dialogue with policymakers, societal mobilization and empowerment, strategic communication, and initiatives that encourage sustainable practices and the creation of fairer, more inclusive, and resilient systems.
